Veterinary
【Veterinary Drug Name】
Generic Name: Tiamulin Fumarate Premix
Product Name: Zhiyijing
English Name: Tiamulin Fumarate Premix
Pinyin: Yanhusuosuan Taimiaojunsu Yuhunji
【Main Ingredients】 Tiamulin Fumarate.
【Properties】 This product is white or off-white granules.
【Pharmacological Action】
Pharmacodynamics Tiamulin is a type of pleuromutilin antibiotic, which has a bactericidal effect on sensitive bacteria at high concentrations. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S subunit of the ribosome.
Tiamulin has good antibacterial activity against mycoplasma and swine dysentery spirochetes, and also has good antibacterial activity against most Gram-positive bacteria, including staphylococci and streptococci (except Group D streptococci). It has some effect on pleuropneumoniae actinomycetes, but its antibacterial activity against most Gram-negative bacteria is relatively weak.
This product can be combined with oxytetracycline in a 1:4 ratio to treat bacterial enteritis, bacterial pneumonia, and swine dysentery caused by spirochetes. It is effective against pneumonia caused by mixed infections of mycoplasma pneumonia, Bordetella bronchiseptica, and Pasteurella multocida.
Pharmacokinetics Tiamulin is well absorbed when administered orally to pigs. The bioavailability after a single dose is about 85%, reaching peak blood concentration in 2 to 4 hours. The drug is widely distributed in the body, with the highest concentration in lung tissue. Tiamulin is extensively metabolized in the body, producing more than 20 metabolites, some of which have antibacterial activity. Tiamulin metabolites are mainly excreted in the feces via bile, with about 30% excreted in urine.
【Drug Interactions】
(1) Co-administration with other polyether antibiotics such as monensin, salinomycin, and methyl salinomycin may affect the metabolism of these polyether antibiotics, leading to slow growth, ataxia, paralysis, and even death.
(2) Co-administration with other antibiotics that can bind to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes (such as macrolide antibiotics and lincosamides) may lead to reduced efficacy due to competition for the same action site.
【Actions and Applications】 Pleuromutilin antibiotics. Mainly used for the prevention and treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia in pigs, pleuropneumonia caused by actinomycetes, and swine dysentery (dysentery) caused by spirochetes.
【Dosage and Administration】 Based on this product. Mixed feeding: 50-125g per 1000kg of feed for pigs, used continuously for 5-10 days.
【Adverse Reactions】 Pigs using normal doses may sometimes experience skin erythema. Overdose may cause transient salivation, vomiting, and central nervous system depression in pigs.
【Precautions】
(1) Prohibited from co-administration with polyether antibiotics such as monensin, salinomycin, and methyl salinomycin.
(2) Users should avoid contact with eyes and skin.
(3) If the environmental temperature exceeds 40℃, the storage period of medicated feed should not exceed 7 days.
【Withdrawal Period】 7 days for pigs.
【Specifications】 80%.
【Storage】 Store in a light-proof, sealed container in a dry place.
