【Pharmacological Effects】
Pharmacodynamics Tilmicosin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic for animal use. It is strong against mycoplasma, with antibacterial effects similar to tylosin, and is effective against sensitive Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus (including penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), Streptococcus pneumoniae, anthrax bacillus, erysipelas bacillus, Listeria, Clostridium perfringens, and Clostridium septicum. Sensitive Gram-negative bacteria include Haemophilus, Neisseria meningitidis, and Pasteurella. It has stronger activity against pleuropneumonia Actinobacillus, Pasteurella, and mycoplasma in livestock and poultry compared to tylosin. 95% of hemolytic Pasteurella strains are sensitive to this product.
Pharmacokinetics Rapid absorption after oral administration, characterized by strong tissue penetration and a large distribution volume (greater than 2L/kg). High concentration in the lungs, with a half-life of elimination of 1 to 2 days, maintaining effective blood drug concentration for a long time.
【Drug Interactions】
(1) This product combined with adrenaline can increase mortality in pigs.
(2) It has the same action targets as other macrolides and lincosamides, and should not be used simultaneously.
(3) It exhibits antagonistic effects when used in combination with β-lactams.
